Day 1 - (3/23/20)
Arrive in Mendoza Argentina. After settling into The Sheraton Mendoza Hotel, we will leave at 7:00pm for our welcome dinner at Francis Mallmann 1884 restaurant to kick off our amazing adventure. Here we will enjoy some fine Argentine cuisine and discuss the itinerary and answer any questions you may have. After dinner we will retire to our hotel for the evening.
Day 2 - (3/24/20)
We will be picked up at our hotel at 8:30am and driven to a ranch outside the city to experience a day in the life of an authentic Argentinian Gaucho (Cowboy). We start with breakfast in camp before heading out into the Andes a few hours on horseback. An asado lunch will also be included. From there, we’ll head back to our hotel in Mendoza. The rest of the evening will be free time to explore Mendoza or relax.
Day 3 - (3/25/20)
Our driver will pick us up at our hotel at 8:45am for one of Mendoza’s top, “must do” experiences. You guessed it………..wine tasting! Mendoza is home to some of the world’s finest Malbec as well as other varieties. There will be a wine familiar, local guide who will explain the region and wineries to us during our drive. Most of the wineries will offer a short tour before heading to the tasting room for what you’ve all been waiting for. We will visit 3 of the area’s top wineries. A tasty lunch will be provided midday and is included in the tour. We will return to our hotel back in Mendoza around 5:00-5:30pm. The rest of the evening is free time.
Day 4 - (3/26/20)
The morning after a day of wine tasting it’s very important to have the option to “Sleep In!” The morning and afternoon are free to relax (or explore on your own.) and take your time. A proper siesta is highly recommended as well! Several city activities can be recommended, like exploring the five main plazas, or checking out Mendoza’s art scene. The city is very vibrant and the locals extremely kind and joyful. It’s a great place to safely wander around and take it all in. At 5:00pm our transport will pick us up from our hotel and take us to the outskirts of town to a small winery for a cooking experience taught by masterful chef Cristina Brino. You will engage in an interactive cooking demonstration while enjoying the delicious small production wine that is made just up the hill. Try and master the skillful art of forming your own empanads! What we watch Cristina cook is what we will eat for dinner. We will return to our hotel around 11:00pm.
Day 5 - (3/27/20)
Wake up early, grab a quick breakfast at our hotel and leave for the airport for our flight to Santiago. Once we land in Santiago, we’ll head to The Winebox Hotel in Valparaiso After check in, there will be a little relax time before heading out on a city walk for a couple hours led by Michael to check out some of Valparaiso’s famous street art. The evening is free time for you to explore and have dinner wherever you choose (not included but recommendations available).
Day 6 - (3/27/20)
After breakfast at our hotel, our driver will pick us up at 9:00am to take the group out for a fun filled day of wine tasting in Chile’s famed Casablanca wine region. Compared to Mendoza’s red and spicy wines, the Casablanca region is better known for its chardonnay and sauvignon blanc white wines. We will visit 3 wineries and receive a short tour before the tastings. Lunch will be included at one of the wineries. We will return to Valparaiso around 4:00pm where you will have free time to explore and have dinner on your own.
Day 7 - (3/29/20)
At 11:00am we will take a street art painting class getting to know the city from a local artist's perspective. The class will end with us leaving a mark by painting on a building wall in the streets of Valparaiso. After the painting excursion, there will be a few hours of free time do as you please. The final dinner included on the trip will be at the rooftop terrace of The Winebox Hotel. The owner is a winemaker and will prepare a fantastic meal overlooking the city which drops off into the ocean. We’ll get to sample and compare several of the different wines from the areas we’ve visited to see which ones we love the most.
Day 8 - (3/30/20)
After breakfast we will say farewell. Remember to get the contact information of all the new friends you made along the way! Transportation back to Santiago will be included.
