Day 1 - (3/9/20)
The tour will begin at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel Restaurant near the Santiago International Airport. Once we have everyone together, we will depart for Valparaiso. After check in at our hotel Winebox Valparaiso, we will head out on a city walk for a couple hours led by Michael the German Pirate (or one of his associates) to check out some of Valparaiso’s famous street art. Afterward, we’ll return to our hotel for a short break and prepare for dinner (included).
Day 2 - (3/10/20)
After breakfast at our hotel, our driver will pick us up at 9:00am to take the group out for a fun filled day of wine tasting in Chile’s famed Casablanca wine region. Compared to Mendoza’s red and spicy wines, the Casablanca region is better known for its chardonnay and sauvignon blanc white wines. We will visit 3 wineries and lunch will be included. We will return to Valparaiso around 4:00pm where you will have free time to explore and have dinner on your own.
Day 3 - (3/11/20)
At 11:00am we will take a street art painting class getting to know the city from a local artist's perspective. The class will end with us leaving our mark by painting on a building wall in the streets of Valparaiso. After the painting excursion, there will be a few hours of free time do as you please. A fantastic dinner included on the trip will be at the rooftop terrace of The Winebox Hotel. The owner is a winemaker and will prepare a mouth watering meal overlooking the city which drops off into the ocean. We’ll get to sample and compare several of the different wines from the areas we’ve visited to see which ones we love the most.
Day 4 - (3/12/20)
Today we say farewell to Valparaiso and transfer back to Santiago to catch our flight to Mendoza. At 5:00pm our transport will pick us up from The Diplomatic Hotel and take us to the outskirts of town to a small winery for a cooking experience taught by masterful chef Cristina Brino. Guests will engage in an interactive cooking demonstration while enjoying the delicious small production wine that is made just up the hill. Try and master the skillful art of forming your own empanads! What we watch Cristina cook is what we will eat for dinner. We will return to our hotel around 11:00pm.
Day 5 - (3/13/20)
We will be picked up at our hotel at 8:30am and driven to a ranch outside the city to experience a day in the life of an authentic Argentinian Gaucho (Cowboy). We start with breakfast in camp before heading out toward the Andes Mountains for a few hours on horseback. An Asado lunch will also be included. From there, we’ll head back to our hotel in Mendoza. The rest of the evening will be free time to explore the city or relax.
Day 6 - (3/14/20)
Our driver will pick us up at our hotel at 8:45am for one of Mendoza’s top, “must do” experiences. You guessed it………..wine tasting! Mendoza is home to some of the world’s finest Malbec as well as other varieties. There will be a wine familiar, local guide who will explain the region and wineries to us during our drive. Most of the wineries will offer a short tour before heading to the tasting room for what you’ve all been waiting for. We will visit 3 of the area’s top wineries. A tasty lunch will be provided midday and is included in the tour. We will return to our hotel back in Mendoza around 5:00-5:30pm. The rest of the evening is free time.
Day 7 - (3/15/20)
The morning after a day of wine tasting it’s very important to have the option to “Sleep In!” The morning and afternoon are free to relax (or explore on your own.) and take your time. A proper siesta is highly recommended as well! Several city activities can be recommended, like exploring the five main plazas, or checking out Mendoza’s art scene. The city is very vibrant and the locals extremely kind and joyful. It’s a great place to safely wander around and take it all in. Don't forget to check out the local craft market at Plaza Independencia! At 7:00pm our driver will pick us up at our hotel and take us to the famous 1884 Restaurante Francis Mallmann. Here we will delight in some fine Argentine cuisine and reminisce over our trip with some newfound friends.
Day 8 - (3/16/20)
After breakfast we will say farewell. Remember to get the contact information of all the new friends you made along the way! Transportation to Mendoza Airport can be arranged (not included).
